What is Shungite Water?
Shungite water is an overall term used to describe water that has been:

Elite or Noble Shungite — Type I:
This is the purest form of shungite with at least 95%+ carbon content, and the highest fullerene content.
This is the reason why elite shungite is the best for making alkaline shungite water as it has the highest fullerene content, which attracts and neutralizes waterborne pollutants, while adding key minerals to water and giving the water its therapeutic effects.
Elite shungite is silvery black in color, and due to it being rather soft, it cannot be used to form any shapes, and is available in raw stone and granule form. If you want to use shungite specifically to make shungite water, elite shungite is ideally what you should be using.
Black Shungite / Gray Shungite — Type II / III:
The second grade of shungite or black shungite has a black luster and contains 50-70% carbon content, meaning it has less fullerenes than elite shungite.
The third grade or Type III shungite contains 30-50% carbon and is grayish in color.

All you need to get started is high-quality elite shungite and regular tap water.
Follow the steps below to make pure, healthy and therapeutic shungite water at home:
- Carefully wash the shungite stones several times to get rid of any dust or dirt before using them to make shungite water
- Fill a container (preferably glass) with 1L of water and place the shungite stones in the water for at least 2-3 days
- Or you can just add 1 piece of elite shungite to a glass or jug with clean tap water for 24-48 hours
- Shungite starts to work within a few hours, but to reap the most benefits the longer you keep the stones in the water, the better
- Please note: the shungite stones need to be washed and cleaned regularly to get the best effects
Is Shungite Water Acidic or Alkaline?
Some say that shungite water is acidic and needs to be treated and made alkaline before drinking, however, it's important to do your own testing, as was done by Crystal Healing For Women.

Cup #1: Made with ONLY Elite Noble Shungite, and is completely alkaline (PH 9-10). PH 1(orange) is most acidic and PH 14 (purple) is most alkaline.
Cup #2: Made with Elite Noble Shungite, but mostly the Type II shungite. Still alkaline and good to drink, but less powerful than Cup #1 made with only Type I or elite shungite.
Cup #3: So-called “purified” water available bottled at stores or delivered to offices — it is way too acidic, and a waste of money.
Cup #4: Filtered water by reverse osmosis and an advanced filter system. Way too alkaline to drink every day, but excellent to drink at controlled doses.
She states that,
“If you talk to experts in Russia as I had, they will tell you that shungite water is acidic. When I asked about the shungite river in Russia been known for it's healing properties and purity of water, their answer was that this water (in the river) is flowing, contrary to water that is still in a jar or container. Hence making the water to become even more acidic. This in itself makes sense, at least to me. However and based on test that I have done (see images of testing acidity in different water above) I have done shungite water and it has turned my water from acid to alkaline, that is what the test strips showed when tested. I believe this could be because the water I initially used BEFORE adding the elite noble shungite was extremely acid, so the shungite not only removed contaminants but helped the water to become more alkaline as well. I recommend for you to do your own testing and experiment with different waters. The important thing here is to know is that shungite water is very healthy for you.”
